Erica Barrales has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2014.
My approach
I am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and CSEC. I utilize an eclectic approach in therapy.
My focus
I have 17 years of experience working with children, teens, and families. The majority of my work experience has been working in the foster care system. My specialty areas consist of working with the Hispanic population, working with gang-associated youth, at-risk youth, sexually exploited youth, and youth who are in foster care or have an open DCFS case. My expertise is working with children who have experienced trauma.
My communication style
The tone that I set with the clients is that I am authentic, patient, and calm. Respect and honesty is the best policy with me. I find that meeting the client where they are, being informal, and using humor makes it easier to establish rapport with my clients.
