Hi there! I am Erika Cruz, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Certified Brainspotting Therapist in the state of Georgia. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Grand Canyon University, a Bachelor's degree from Georgia College & State University, and an Associate's degree from Midlands Technical College. I work with adults 18+ and have extensive experience treating a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, extensive trauma histories, and other difficult challenges.
My approach
While I consider myself an eclectic therapist, some of the modalities I utilize include cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused techniques, mindfulness, and brainspotting.
My focus
I'm most comfortable treating adult clients who experience mild to moderate anxiety, depression, relationship issues, coping skills challenges, self-esteem concerns, stress, emotional disturbances, and trauma.
My communication style
My counseling style is warm and engaging. I take a culturally sensitive and collaborative approach with clients.
My journey to mental healthcare
I knew therapy was my calling at a very young age. I feel inspired by witnessing how people heal and grow, transforming their wounds into strengths. My greatest joy as a therapist is finding the innate goodness in people and shining a light on it.
My goals for you
Therapy is a co-creative process. I involve you fully in all aspects of your healing. I believe true change cannot come from me telling you what to do; we must work together to establish goals that help you feel better and function at higher levels in the world.
My first session with you
Clients can expect a supportive, healing space to share their reasons for seeking therapy, establish treatment goals, explore strengths, preferences, and needs. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.
