Congratulations on overcoming the discomfort in connecting to services that can help to create, re-establish, or reinforce the life you want to live. I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment where you feel comfortable being open and honest in order to have the best possible outcomes. I look forward to collaborating with you using a client-centered approach! My approach I use a hands-on approach that often includes homework and applying coping strategies outside of the session to reinforce skill attainment. While cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is the most commonly used approach, I may also incorporate solution-focused, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness strategies based on your unique needs. The focal point of treatment is your goals and progress. Our work together will build your confidence through the use of individualized strategies. My focus Has life become overwhelming or unmanageable? I work with folks to manage depression, anxiety, life transitions, and work-related stressors. I will collaborate with you to develop a plan that facilitates growth and feels achievable and empowering, regardless of whether you are working through trauma, expanding your coping skills, or defining your personal goals. My communication style Clear and open communication is a fundamental need to feeling safe and secure. This is what makes clear and open communication a priority for my practice. I strive to provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment by practicing active listening and demonstrating empathy as you reflect on your experiences. You can also expect that while exploring challenging topics, I will remain calm and patient while being able to contain any emotional intensity that may arise. My journey to mental healthcare I believe that we are created with a fundamental needed to be understood and accepted, and when we are in chronic survival we are not often able to get the understanding and acceptance we need.
