I understand the hesitation in starting therapy; it can be intimidating. I admire the bravery you show by embarking on this journey. I work with individuals to resolve complex traumas, anxiety, depression, and identity-based wounds. As an immigrant and former refugee, my experiences have taught me to navigate migration, violence, and traumas of displacement and loss. These personal experiences sharpen my ability to highlight the consequences of trauma and grief in clients. I have expertise working in various inpatient and outpatient clinical settings as a therapist and crisis manager.
I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor’s from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. My main goal is to help you access and rewrite your story by raising internal awareness. I use multiple therapeutic techniques to help you comprehend and redefine your story from a mind-body perspective. Core modalities in my practice include CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, MI, ACT, Psychodynamic theory, Attachment Theory, Gottman Method, and IFS. CBT challenges unhelpful thoughts, while MI enhances self-motivation. DBT teaches mindfulness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Psychodynamic therapy explores unconscious influences and past experiences shaping thoughts and behaviors, addressing trauma and maladaptive coping to promote healthier emotional responses and mental well-being. Elements of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) are integrated to tackle present challenges practically rather than focusing solely on the past.
My goal is to provide a secure, respectful space where we can design an approach that suits where you are. My role is to be an attentive guide and lead you to the best resources. I welcome all in cultural limbo to bring your identities, cultures, and rituals into our work together.
