Hi, I’m Carlos. I’m a bilingual therapist (English & Spanish) and a proud Mexican immigrant. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University, and my work is shaped by both professional training and my own lived experience navigating life between cultures. I understand how powerful it can be to have a space where your story is heard and your identity is honored.I work with adults and older teens (16+) navigating trauma, PTSD, depression, cultural identity concerns, and other challenges that can feel heavy to carry alone. I have a special passion for supporting men in exploring emotions, questions, and parts of themselves that are often kept quiet in daily life.I strive to make therapy a place where you feel safe, understood, and valued exactly as you are.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My approach is relational, person-centered, and existential, which means I focus on building a genuine connection, seeing you as a whole person, and helping you make sense of your experiences at your own pace. Together, we will move toward reconnecting with your strengths, gaining new perspectives, and healing from what has been weighing you down. Whether you’ve been struggling for years or are facing something recent and overwhelming, therapy can be a place to begin again. Together, we can explore your history, heal wounds, and find a path of full of light and hope. What is your typical process for working with clients?
I approach therapy as a collaborative and reflective process. Early sessions focus on building safety and understanding the client’s experiences, relationships, cultural context, and goals. Over time, I help clients explore emotions, patterns, and relational dynamics while supporting increased self-awareness and emotional regulation. I strive to balance insight, compassion, and practical tools, tailoring therapy to each client’s needs and pace.
