Hi there! I'm Heather, and I'm so glad you're here. If you're feeling weighed down by anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, or health problems, know that you're not alone. As a mental health therapist, I'm here to provide the support you need to navigate these challenges and find a path forward that feels right for you.
I believe that everyone can benefit from a little extra support, especially during stressful times. I understand that making time for therapy can be tough, but engaging in counseling with me can help you work through difficult situations, emotions, and experiences with greater ease and without judgment. My sessions are designed to be relaxed and supportive, creating a safe space for you to explore and grow.
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor, and I graduated from Portland State University in 2002. Since then, I've dedicated my career to helping individuals like you. I am a Certified ADHD, Anxiety, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to effectively treat anxiety and depression.
My areas of expertise include ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, life transitions, medical issues and physical health, stress, and trauma. Whether you're dealing with the demands of ADHD, the weight of grief, or the stress of a major life transition, I have the experience and skills to help you find your way.
Outside of my professional life, I love spending time with my family, reading, being in nature, and traveling. These activities help me stay grounded and bring a sense of balance to my life, which I believe is essential for everyone.
