I was pulled to clinical social work for so many reasons— but mostly because I wanted to connect with and help people. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with my Master of Science in Social Work in 2012, and have worked in the clinical field for the past 14 years.
My approach as a clinical social worker and licensed therapist is heavily based in science, ethics, experience, and honesty. I’m trained extensively in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and believe it to be one of the strongest approaches to treating mood dysregulation. I also lean heavily on Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Therapy.
My experience is complimented by my own personality traits — honesty, integrity, and a bit of humor. With my lived experience as a mother, I’m able to understand intricately the challenges that come along with motherhood, and I’m an unbiased listening ear to hash out each challenging issue or experience.
My goal as your therapist is to equip you with the skills to succeed without me. No therapy should be forever, and my goal is to connect with you, identify the key areas of need, and work together to improve your life and get to a point where you don’t feel the need for therapy.
