For ten years I worked at one of the most prestigious psychiatric hospitals in the country. As a core therapist at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, I gained an extensive background in treating depression, anxiety, and bipolar issues using a mix of CBT and DBT modalities. I am Level II Certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
I specialize in working with gender and sexually diverse issues and enjoy working with LGBTQIAA individuals, poly people, nerds, kinksters, gamers, and trauma survivors.
In addition to my clinical work, I teach classes on a variety of topics, including ways to improve communication, how to live a healthy, more balanced life, and how to manage negative or unhelpful thoughts. I am a regular speaker at the Multiplicities of the Erotic and Chicago Non-Monogamy conferences, a recurring guest on Wild and Sublime, and am currently a Lecturer at the University of Chicago teaching “Working with Alternative Sexual Interests and Relationship Structures”.
I am a member of Chicago Kink and Poly Aware Therapists (KPACT).

Jason is hands down the best therapist I've ever worked with (and I've worked with quite a few!) I've made huge positive changes in my life as a result of our work together. I'd rate him six stars if I could!

I've seen several therapists over the course of the past 30 years and - no pun intended - Jason is the 'best'. He is easy to talk to, his feedback is thoughtful and perceptive, and the years of experience he brings to our sessions helps me every time I see him.
Jason is open minded, empathetic and kind. He also has a great sense of humor, which I've found very refreshing... especially when we're dealing with difficult stuff. Jason is a really, really good listener; I always feel like I'm being heard when we meet. Sometimes we delve into issues from the past, and I'm always impressed by the way he helps me make connections from the past to the present... and how he helps me develop useful and practical ways of dealing with my current problems.
Also, Jason makes it clear that he's not just available 50 minutes a week. If I text or email with something important, he gets back right away... and he encourages me to reach out between sessions if difficult things arise. I feel like I continue to make great progress with Jason as a supporter and a guide.

My sessions with Jason have been great. He is very professional, has a good sense of humor, and is very sensitive to difficult subjects. He has been patient when the same topics need to be discussed repeatedly, and he is very good at adjusting the way he communicates to match how I think and process. These sessions with Jason have been, quite literally, life-changing.
