Getting to know Dr. Komal Nayak

Prior to booking, please be mindful of the following: 1) I do not accept any insurances. I can provide a bill that you can submit for reimbursement. 2) Due to regulatory procedures, I do not prescribe stimulants (Adderall, Ritalin, etc.) or benzodiazepines (Xanax, Klonopin, etc.) nor see patients who are actively having thoughts of self-harm. 3) Appointments are conducted via telemedicine only (NY state). 4) I will call you prior to your appointment. Dr. Komal Nayak specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults. She strives to provide an empathic approach to help her patients navigate the stressors of daily life. She is well versed in prescribing psychiatric medications for various mental health concerns. Over time, Dr. Nayak hopes to guide her patients toward positive change and improved health. Dr. Nayak earned her Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Psychiatry at Temple University Hospital and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Langone Health and Bellevue Hospital Center. Currently, Dr. Nayak is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Langone and Bellevue Hospital in NYC. She is a faculty member of the NYU School of Medicine and a clinical psychiatrist at Steven A. Cohen’s Military Family Clinic at NYU, where she provides mental health treatment to veterans and their children.
