Landen views therapy as one of many pathways to explore and be curious about ourselves and our lives. What is the story you tell yourself about who you are? What stories have been told about you without your consent? Landen believes our mental health is deeply impacted by these collective narratives, especially in the context of our environment (home, community, land), access to resources, experiences of privilege and oppression, and relationships to family and community. Your work with Landen will center your wholeness, examining how these positions and experiences have shaped and continue to shape your life story.
In sessions, Landen welcomes you to release the pressure to be “fixed” or “cured.” They invite you to embrace a spectrum of wellness that can be embodied and practiced without expecting perfection. Landen believes reconnecting to your body is vital in dismantling the harms of white supremacy. Depending on your goals, this may include learning or strengthening techniques to soothe your body, developing firm and loving boundaries, and/or discovering how to co-create nurturing relationships with friends, family, and community.
Landen’s therapy is trauma-informed and draws from various models and theories, including abolitionist, feminist, and anti-racist frameworks, Narrative, Liberation Health, and body-based therapies and rituals. Landen is a white (Polish, Slovak, English, Welsh), queer, trans, and non-binary social worker, survivor, plant dad, and devoted cat parent. They hold a Master’s in Social Work from Simmons University and a Bachelor’s from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
