Hello, I'm Lara. Sometimes we all need a safe space to share our stories with a caring and unbiased listener, and I want to provide that for you. With over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health, I have been licensed as a Professional Counselor since 2004. My journey began with a Master's degree in clinical pastoral counseling in 2000, and since then, I've had the privilege of working in private counseling and psychiatry practices, as well as university and hospital departments in both the US and the UK. My extensive background has allowed me to support individuals facing anxiety, depression, grief, panic, mental and physical illnesses, and relationship issues, among other challenges. I am particularly passionate about helping college students, couples, internationals, job seekers, and adults of any age who are seeking emotional healing, mental health support, and direction for their life's struggles and spiritual questions. Adapting to your needs and preferences, I utilize various therapeutic approaches including CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), Christian counseling, EAGALA (equine-assisted experiential therapy), emotionally focused therapy, Gottman and PREPARE-ENRICH couples therapy, grief counseling, mindfulness, and narrative therapy. I am open to working with adult clients from any background and can offer Christian, spiritual, and non-religious counseling. My goal is to create a supportive and understanding environment where you feel comfortable to explore and address your concerns.
