“Larisa is a very thorough in her work and very goal oriented. I have been working with her for over 6 months and she has provided me with guidance in reaching my goals and psychological insights that I have not received from previous providers. She helps set objectives with you and goes straight to work on them. In every session she reviews and summarizes all that was spoken about and it helps you to refocus your goals and draw insights. I appreciate her efforts to get to the deep rooted trauma or underlying issue in order to find solutions and help you live your best life. ”

Getting to know Larissa Yossefi

My practice caters to adults, teens, and young adults with a cautious approach to medication management and EMDR for trauma and panic attacks. The initial evaluation spans one or two sessions, offering psychotherapy, psychiatric medications, CBT, or a combination. Weekly therapy sessions, EMDR, and medication management sessions occur initially. I tailor my approach using various therapy modalities, ensuring the highest quality of care based on individual needs. Techniques include psychodynamic therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, parent management training, and family therapy. Emphasizing safety, I advocate for a "Start low, go slow" philosophy, counseling low medication doses and frequent follow-ups. My commitment is evident from the first call, providing safe options and collaborating to create a treatment plan that optimizes mental, emotional, and physical health. My practice is small and personal. I make it a point to return calls promptly. My patients can contact me via text or phone if needed. Following each session, you will receive an email summary and a worksheet to aid in practicing effective self-awareness skills, symptom management, and more. After 8-12 sessions, you should notice a positive change in your mental state. In-person sessions are out of network. I hold a Master’s in Nursing from Molloy University, which informs my comprehensive and compassionate approach to care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a firm believer that every child or individual is a member of a family system, and I advocate for therapeutic methods other than only medications. Our ADHD Assessments are priced at $575.00 and encompass the following: A 60-minute individual evaluation session Review of assessments provided by other sources such as family members or educators Screening for developmental disorders that may present symptoms similar to ADHD A comprehensive report outlining strengths and areas for improvement Detailed suggestions for individual accommodations to support success in academic or work environments Written referrals as necessary.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Initial evaluations are comprehensive psychiatric evaluations where diagnosis, treatment, and referral recommendations may be made. If appropriate, psychotherapy may be provided or referrals made to skilled clinicians. Psychiatric prescriptions are provided only if indicated and prescription of controlled substances is avoided if possible.

I contacted Dr. Yoseffi at the recommendation of my therapist who suggested that I needed some type of depression meds. After numerous attempts to see someone in office to no avail ( no new patients, no call backs) I decided to seek help on line. Dr. Yoseffi responded immediately. After a brief intake interview she told me what I needed to do to get a prescription. ( past blood work, etc.). She submitted a prescription which was filled within 4 days of initial contact. After approximately 3-5 days of starting meds I noticed a significant improvement in my mental well being. I have continued sessions with Dr. Yoseffi and look forward to continued treatment with her.
Larissa is very helpful and understanding. Always asks the right questions to encourage self reflection. Highly recommended!
I always finish a session with Ms. Yossefi feeling so much better. I was skeptical about therapy, but she made a believer out of me!
Very thorough and personable

I was hesitant to start therapy but once I started I feel like I am growing and healing. Larissa is so kind, she is a great listener and she explains things very well. I feel very comfortable with her!!! I already have recommended her to one of my good friends.
Larissa is compassionate, understanding, and helps one to address their challenges by applying a plan of thoughtful, incremental steps. She is very mindful and cautious of the potential harm in overprescribing medications and stresses conservatively low doses whenever possible as her philosophy.
I felt cared for and understood
