There are many reasons clients decide to work with a therapist. Developing healthier life habits, working on overcoming challenges, exploring patterns and behaviors, expanding communication skills are some preferred goals. An ideal client has both curiosity and courage to expand their life view and gain perspective and insight into how they relate to themselves and others. Finding ways to manage stress, learning coping strategies, utilizing inherent strengths, are some of the ways I work with clients learning to navigate life’s challenges.
Recognizing one's unique contributions, maintaining healthy relationships, finding meaning and purpose in life all contribute to a life well-lived. It is an honor to take part in each client’s voyage of discovery, to hear individual stories and experiences, and to offer support and compassion within a safe and therapeutic environment.
My passion for promoting mental health awareness is shaped by the many students I have taught and mentored in my 25 years of teaching. While mentoring teens, I worked alongside high school students, developing programs to educate teachers and students about mental health issues.
I work with children, teens, and adults and welcome the opportunity to explore life’s challenges alongside you. I recognize the courage it takes to explore history and patterns, and it is my goal to create a space of hope and connection within the therapeutic relationship. I utilize a combination of approaches, including psychodynamic and insight-oriented therapy, as well as narrative therapy to help shift thought patterns and promote healing and growth.
