As a psychologist, I work to help people identify: (1) problem areas and patterns which are causing significant distress and impacting functioning, (2) the source(s) of these problematic areas and patterns, and (3) ways to enact change. Depending upon your individual characteristics, life experiences, history, and cultural background, these difficulties can present themselves in numerous ways and impact our of experience ourselves, our environment, and our relationships. Furthermore, external circumstances and events often beyond our control can certainly cause or contribute to our difficulties as well.
As a psychotherapist, I develop an understanding of your individual 'story' through an empathic and collaborative relationship and help you to know yourself better so that you can begin to make change and experience increased satisfaction and fulfillment.
My work as a psychologist also includes conducting psychological and/or neuropsychological evaluations to determine if emotional, personality, and/or cognitive issues are interfering with your functioning. In this domain, I often work with students (elementary school through university) who are seeking educational accommodations related to learning and/or attentional difficulties.
