My daughter enjoyed her time with Maria and felt very comfortable opening up to her .She listened to my daughter and they came up with a plan to help my daughter . After her appointment my daughter was so happy she was able to have someone to talk too and understood what she is going thru. Im so glad we found her and my daughter looks forwards to her future appointments with her!!

Hello! My name is Maria O. Hernandez, LMHC. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and have been practicing in the mental health and substance use field for over 8 years. I have worked with children, teens, adults, and geriatrics experiencing various mental health and substance use disorders. I personally enjoy discussing and teaching effective communication strategies with partners and exploring different ways to cope with life's stressors. Most of my clients describe me as "easy to talk to" and willing to help as much as possible to overcome the obstacles they face. I believe the purpose of a mental health provider is to assist clients in identifying their goals and finding the most effective ways to achieve them. In my experience, simple conversation and having someone willing to listen go a long way. Forming healthy therapeutic alliances and helping others is my primary goal. I am committed to finding creative and new approaches that improve overall well-being, which is essential in self-care. I specialize in anger management, substance use, anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, conflict resolution, adjustment disorders, and more. I have worked with diverse populations in various settings, including residential, outpatient, and crisis stabilization units. My experience, empathy, and understanding of different mental illnesses enable me to provide the best treatment outcomes for my clients.
