I was trained in the psychodynamic therapy model at Drexel University and use a person-centered, strength-based approach to help clients reach their full potential. My focus is on achieving wellness and recovery with all my clients by developing strong relationships. In addition to verbal psychotherapy, I can offer art psychotherapy for those who are interested in new ways to express themselves and increase self-awareness. I am also very interested in the mind-body connection, and the use of mindfulness, and meditative, holistic practices.
I am a licensed professional counselor and board-certified art therapist in Pennsylvania. My expertise includes group therapy and individual psychotherapy with late-life depression and anxiety, grief and loss issues, physical disabilities, and chronic health conditions. During my professional career, I have worked in several hospitals, nursing homes, and community outpatient clinics serving older adults with complex issues.
I also have experience with military/veterans and family members dealing with stress, separation, and adjustment issues surrounding deployment and transition. I am a former veteran and officer in the United States Air Force Reserves. I am proud to have served my country and will always help a service member in need.
Currently, I am a student at Grand Canyon University in Arizona with the goal of completing my doctorate degree of Education (Ed. D) in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in behavioral health. Alongside my clinical work, I plan on conducting research related to patient-provider communication and interactions with older adults experiencing clinically depressive symptoms.
