Mary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a Master’s degree in Social Work and is also a Qualified Mental Health Professional. She is currently working towards a PhD in Health Psychology to help clients understand how their thought processes impact their health, and vice versa. As a Registered Yoga Teacher (500hr), she also places a high value on the power of utilizing non-pharmaceutical interventions and positive psychology. Mary has experience in treating adults with anxiety, depression, bipolar, and family and life stressors, and approaches care with a strengths-based and state-of-change approach.
She spent several years of her career working with persons with dementia and their caregivers which gave her expertise in helping individuals manage grief. In addition, she strives to continuously gain cultural competence in issues surrounding the LGBTQ+ community, people of color and other disenfranchised populations. She welcomes clients of these demographics to her practice and is deeply passionate about providing a safe space for them. Mary also completed the therapist certification for the National Emergency Responder and Public Safety Center and uses this knowledge to help clients experiencing burnout and trauma at work. Her Master's Degree included a specialization in veteran services.
Mary values building a trusting and collaborative relationship with clients and considers it a privilege to help them improve their overall quality of life.
