Meagan Mulready, LICSW

Psychotherapist
MA
Hello! My name is Meagan, and I see folks virtually through the Rule platform. I have my master's degree in social work from Bridgewater State University and am a licensed clinician (LICSW). I have worked with a range of populations but mostly with Veterans, young and middle-aged adults, and couples. I think it is crucial to feel comfortable, safe, and supported in the therapy room so that we can navigate through what you would like in a smooth and safe space. My approach I have practiced cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing. I have extensive experience with substance use, couples therapy, relationship problems, navigating self-esteem, and family/communication issues. My focus To date, the most frequent population I have served includes young adults post high school or college working through self-esteem concerns and family/communication issues. I also work with couples, either early in their relationship or marriage, trying to navigate blending lives together and learning how to communicate more effectively. My communication style I think being in the therapy room is a give and take. We both need to come to a place of trust to share what is REALLY going on so that we can make an effective plan for CHANGE. You are taking time out of your life to make a change, and that can take time, so let's take it as slowly or quickly as you'd like. I am here to listen but also here to push you when needed. My journey to mental healthcare I love to listen and talk deeply-I always have! Before I went to graduate school for social work, I was a nutritionist. I worked in the field for a few years and was preparing to get my nutrition license when I felt stuck. I was working with families and children, giving what felt like ?forceful nutrition advice? when really what the families needed was support. These moments gave me a BIG push to take a leap toward social work.
