Hi there, I'm Kristen! Hey there, my name is Kristen Lepsik. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Youngstown State University. I enjoy sharing space with people at their most vulnerable moments. I have 15 years of experience and have worked in hospital, school, and office settings. I am looking forward to helping along your journey. My approach My work centers on trauma and its effects on daily functioning. My focus I have worked with clients of all ages and stages of life but mostly enjoy working with the 5-12-year-old population. I have supported adults with persistent mental health barriers and children with behavior challenges. I have experience with depression, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, PTSD, and anxiety. My communication style I am chill for the most part; I like a dim room for ambiance and soft music playing. I want to make it relaxed and as comfortable as possible for you to feel safe and secure on the journey we will take. Most of my younger clients say I act like a kid sometimes and am silly or joking around. My goal is your comfort and trust. My journey to mental healthcare I had a few family members who struggled with mental health barriers, and I felt this was where I wanted to spend my time. I knew from the gate I wanted to study psychology. I worked in hospital settings—mental health inpatient and outpatient—for the first 11 years of my career. I went to school for social work and have been working with children for the last 7 years. I enjoy witnessing the process for you, the “aha” moments that happen. My goals for you I come from SMART goal training: we set a specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely goal and work from there.
