Hi there, I'm Michael!
Hello, I'm Mike. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is very passionate about supporting all my clients through their most challenging times so they can experience deep healing, growth, and happiness within their lives.
My approach
Skilled in utilizing strength-based interventions, individual therapy, group therapy, family and couples therapy. Solution-oriented with a focus on improving the overall quality of life, promoting social justice, equity & inclusion.
My focus
I love working with adults ages 21-60, couples, families, teens 15-18. I typically worked with clients who have experienced some form of trauma that is still affecting their current functioning of living. I'm comfortable working with clients who are at the beginning stage of treatment with a real desire for change and goal setting.
My communication style
I create a safe and relaxed space so that the clients feel comfortable to be able to talk about whatever it is that want to discuss in the session. The tone of the session is non-judgmental and attentive to whatever the client may want to talk about. Working with me would allow a person who could be experiencing a variety of challenges soon feel hopeful and confident in achieving the goals they set for themselves while in treatment.
My journey to therapy
I became a therapist due to a passion and desire to help others from my own experience of receiving therapy when I was a child due to a court mandate order from my parents' divorce. That experience changed my life for the better, being so young and experiencing such unconditional support from a therapist allowed me to feel and see the strength and greatness within myself.
My goals for you
I approach the goal-setting process with the client with some form of rapport and trust built, by collaborating with the client on ideas and interventions that they feel comfortable doing to help them achieve the goals they set for themselves ultimately.
