Hi there, I'm Rhonda! My name is Rhonda Miller. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and Alabama. I hold a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Kentucky. I work with people who have experienced trauma, but the counseling approaches I use are also helpful for those recovering from divorce or who find themselves repeatedly entering and ending relationships that don't work. **My approach** The primary theoretical approach I use is REBT-Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. It's very practical. When clients learn this approach, they become skilled at using it between sessions and, hopefully, long after therapy ends. REBT aligns well with Bible scriptures and characters who faced challenges similar to what we deal with today. I also use EMDR-Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing-which is extremely effective for those who have experienced trauma. **My focus** I work with men and women who have primarily experienced sexual trauma. I also support people navigating divorce and child custody battles. **My communication style** I create a comfortable and safe environment for my clients. I deeply respect the trust they place in me by sharing sensitive and personal information. **My journey to therapy** As a child, I experienced trauma without support, comfort, counseling, or even a listening ear. As an adult, I began counseling myself and have returned “as needed.” Most of the counselors I worked with were professional, safe, trustworthy, and easy to be with in session. I personally understand the value of being truly heard and seen. **My goals for you** During the Initial Intake and Interview, I ask clients: What do you want to work on? How will you know you've met your goals? What will be different about you when you do? **My first session with you** The first session is the longest meeting we will have-the Initial Intake and Interview.
