Scheduling was simple and I was able to be on her schedule quickly, her office is easy to find with very convenient parking and building personnel that are super helpful. Ritu herself is personable, comforting and judgement-less. Highly recommend.

Amazing... She is such a great listener, asks poignant questions, completely non-judgemental and very has an overwhelmingly positive attitude. Definitely made me feel comfortable telling her anything and gave me confidence that she could help me address my concerns.

Greetings, I am Ritu Reimer. I would like to share with you why I do what I do. As a child my family moved and traveled quite frequently. This gave me the opportunity to experience diverse people, places and cultures. I became fascinated with understanding human behavior. My environment only enriched this. Raised in a medical family, I remember seeing the psychological impact health issues have on a person. Whether it was a child with epilepsy, a teenager getting diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, or an adult battling cancer, the correlation between one’s mental and physical health was strong. Consequentially, I pursued my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. I applied my degree in the nonprofit sector for a few years working with individuals living with chronic mental illness, developmental disabilities and surviving domestic violence. As my passion grew, I decided to further my education and completed a my graduate degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I did my clinical practicum and internship in outpatient substance abuse treatment at Lutheran Social Services of Illinois. This led to the next decade of my experience working with outpatient substance abuse treatment. One thing I found consistently was how unique everyone's needs are and how everyone responds differently to the same approach to treatment. I found it imperative to tailor treatment to what works for the individual. For the past 5 years, as the Director of Outpatient Services I was able to create programs putting these concepts in action. As a believer that the substance was only 10% of the problem, we worked on addressing the remaining 90%….life.
