Sabrina brings a passion and enthusiasm for helping people to the job. In our therapy sessions I found Sabrina to be empathetic, supportive, insightful, energetic and of keen intellect.
Sabrina is a very kind and patient therapist. She always greeted me with a smile and made me feel safe and listened to in every session. As a Latina woman, it was also important for me to have a therapist who could understand the realities and struggles that minorities face and how those play into our mental health. Sabrina empathized with that part of who I am, and it made a big difference in how comfortable I felt talking to her. She was also very understanding if I ever needed to reschedule an appointment. Sabrina never made me feel judged or guilty, and I will always appreciate that. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a therapist who is modern and relatable and also professional and dedicated to her work. I owe her a big thank you!

More about Sabrina Sarro, LMSW

I (they/them/theirs) hold an LMSW from Columbia University and am currently pursuing an MFA in Narrative Nonfiction from the City College of New York—CUNY. As a queer non-binary psychotherapist of color, I am most interested in centering the voices of the unheard — in providing intersectional, decolonized, and trauma-informed counseling and mental health services. My main modalities employed include CBT and MI. Some of the populations I have worked with include: adolescents, young adults, older adults, and families. I also have experience working within the GSM community and the LGBTQIA*/LGBTQIA*POC community. I am deeply committed to supporting individuals through a journey of self-reflection and introspection — and helping to facilitate and potentialize communities’ pathways to further cultivated strength, resiliency, and healing. I hope to continue to utilize creative and intuitive mediums into my work, and one day obtain my LCSW and Ph.D. **Please note that as of March 13, 2020, all appointments are video sessions until further notice due to current public health/safety concerns. All appointments are tentative with this provider. To ensure a smooth intake process an office administrator will reach out to you by phone and email with further paperwork to complete before an appointment is confirmed.

As someone who has been through multiple therapists and been in and out of therapy for many years, Sabrina is the most positive and effective therapeutic relationship I've had as a client. Sabrina brought this incredible level of warmth and empathy to our sessions, while also being professional and astute in her clinical observations of my concerns. I felt safe to discuss anything, and I really learned a lot about myself in the time we worked together.
A paragraph cannot explain the level of comfort, affirmation & genuine love, constructive criticism & help Sabrina gave me during our year together. She was a solid therapist that felt like a first cousin. We bonded & she used that bond to help me, construct a better me! ;-) GIVE HER A RAISE!
My visits with Sabrina were wonderful I've learned many tools that I have applied in my life that has made a huge impact. She always provided a safe space for me to feel comfortable to speak freely without judgement and for that, I highly recommend her!
Sabrina is by far the best therapist I have visited in NYC. I felt very comfortable with her and she was asking me the right questions. She is very caring and sincere. I am looking forward to working with her in the future.
Sabrina is amazing! Unlike my previous visits with other therapists, I established a very good connection with her; I always felt safe and comfortable opening up. Sabrina helped me out a lot! And I’m forever thankful!!
Sabrina is a very compassionate and supportive therapist. She helped me deal with some identity issues, and helped me learn to embrace all aspects of myself. She is a woman who supports other women, and has inspired me to do the same! I always felt heard and listened to in our sessions...not to mention she has killer hair and a great sense of fashion!!
How do you properly describe someone who saved your life? Sabrina helped me through one of the toughest times of my life a year ago and I don’t think I would be here leaving this review had it not been for her warmth and compassion. I highly recommend her services.
Sabrina was always attentive and a great listener during my meetings with her. She would always have a smile on her face and was a delightful person to be around. She never judged and always understood where I was coming from while also helping me figure this out. She made me feel comfortable and provided a safe space for me to share my feelings.
Sabrina is the most open minded person I have met. The last thing you feel with her is judgement. The best quality is positive reassurance that feels GENUINE. As a single mom, in grad school and full time work, I was struggling with self esteem and life stress. Leaving Sabrina's office I always felt empowered and with actual exercises to practice at home. She does not just sit there and nod and say...and then..repeatedly. She made sure she understood what I was really going through and steered me in the right direction. I am very grateful.
