“I did a free consultation with Gabrielle before we got started. I felt shy about starting therapy and about saying I was looking at several therapists, but she was understanding. I'm so glad I stayed with her. She's been a great resource and person to go through difficult times with. ”

“Couldn't recommend Gabrielle higher, especially if you're part of the LGBTQ community. Was able to get over a hump that I had been trying to get over for a VERY long time. Great experience overall! ”

Getting to know Gabrielle Guadalupe

I identify as queer and neurodivergent, and I go by she/her & they/them. I received my Masters degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from NYU.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My aim as a mental health counselor is to create an empathetic and curiosity-driven environment for clients to pursue and explore growth, well-being, and authenticity. The foundations of my practice are rooted in being queer-affirming, neurodiversity-affirming, and trauma-informed. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process that works towards clients’ goals by examining emotions, unconscious beliefs, the mind-body connection, and relational patterns.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the therapy room, I might name things like gender roles, heteronormativity, or ableism, and explore how these larger systemic structures might have affected you. I also integrate mind-body approaches through breathing exercises, grounding techniques, and checking in with your body during sessions. This often means talking about what activates and regulates the nervous system.
