What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is collaborative, respectful, and grounded in the belief that each person already has strengths they can build upon. My style is warm and conversational while remaining focused and goal-oriented. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness practices, Somatic approaches, and Motivational Interviewing. This means we may explore how thoughts influence emotions and behaviors, develop practical tools for managing symptoms, build awareness of how stress shows up in the body, and identify realistic steps toward change. I tailor therapy to each individual’s needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. Clients can expect an active partnership in which we work together to clarify concerns, process experiences, and move toward improved life satisfaction.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is focused on understanding your story - what brings you to therapy, your history, current stressors, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We will identify initial goals and begin developing a plan that feels manageable and meaningful. In ongoing sessions, we typically check in about recent experiences, challenges, or successes. We may process emotions connected to past or present events, examine patterns in thinking and behavior, practice coping strategies, or develop concrete action steps. At times, we may incorporate mindfulness or body-based awareness techniques to help regulate stress and strengthen emotional resilience. Therapy is an evolving process. As goals are met or needs change, we adjust our focus accordingly. My priority is to ensure that sessions feel purposeful, supportive, and aligned with your growth.
