Kelsey McGrail, LISW-S

Psychotherapist
OH
Hello! I'm Kelsey McGrail, a Licensed Independent Social Worker with supervisory designation (LISW-S) based in Columbus, OH, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from The Ohio State University. I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, and PTSD, using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused/Strength-Based, and trauma-sensitive approaches to help address the issues at hand and empower my clients on their journey to feeling better. My approach to therapy varies based on each client’s needs. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to develop a shared understanding of their reality and identify appropriate treatment goals to make meaningful progress. I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for older children, teens, and young adults dealing with everyday stressors and challenges within their interpersonal relationships. This often includes anxiety, depression, academic or job stress, and difficulties with executive functioning. I work to help my clients navigate these challenges and build skills that foster a more positive outlook on life and relationships. My communication style is empathetic, calm, and direct. I don’t sugarcoat things and strive to be open and honest while maintaining a safe, compassionate space where clients feel comfortable sharing. I want my clients to come as they are and feel confident they will be received without judgment.
