Hi. I?m Shannon Caraway, a licensed professional counselor in Georgia with 14+ years in the field. I love what I do! I have worked in various settings?from school, outpatient, inpatient, in-home, virtual, and more recently, corrections. My practice has always been client-focused, and over the past 5 years, I?ve emphasized self-care.
My approach
I provide therapy from a holistic perspective because I believe caring for your whole self helps you better manage life. Interventions include CBT, solution-focused, person-centered, and motivational interviewing.
My focus
I am open to working with any client because everyone deserves a good therapist. I have experience with males, females, couples, those with mental health diagnoses, and those dealing with life challenges?children, teens, and more. I?ve treated depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem issues, and more. I also communicate openly if I?m uncomfortable treating a client, allowing space for their best care.
My communication style
Clients quickly learn I?m bubbly and welcoming, creating a safe space to open up. Sessions include laughs, tears, light bulb moments, and more.
My journey to mental healthcare
As a kid, I wanted to be a pediatrician. In senior year, a psychology/sociology course amazed me?studying how people think and act fascinated me. The rest is history. This work is my passion and purpose. Helping people is top tier.
