Hi there, I'm Sharon!
My name is Sharon Lange, and I?m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in western Massachusetts, serving clients statewide through telehealth. I hold a Master?s in Social Work from Springfield College. I work primarily with older adults dealing with anxiety and depression related to life changes including loss, grief, divorce, caregiving stress, and cognitive changes. My approach is collaborative and strength-based.
My approach
I provide a safe place to explore the challenges you are facing and work together to find useful strategies, tools, and solutions. I draw primarily from principles of Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and other approaches to address the unique needs of each individual.
My focus
I work with older adults facing a variety of challenges related to aging. Life transitions such as job loss, health issues, caregiving stress, divorce, loss, and bereavement are often overwhelming. I will help you move through the paralysis, anxiety, and depression that often accompany these transitions.
My communication style
I provide a calm, accepting, and supportive environment where it is safe to share and explore the challenges you face. I will help you identify and use the strengths you have to move toward the life you want.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always had an affinity for older adults and started my social work career working in home care and older adult mental health. I have worked with older adults in a variety of settings for over 20 years. Now, as an older adult myself, I see the complexities and multiple challenges of aging even more clearly. I bring years of experience and perspective to the therapeutic relationship.

Once we have clarified the challenges, we will work together to identify realistic goals that give you hope and agency to make the changes you desire. We will track your progress toward achieving your goals.
