About Dr. Alan Stein
Alan C. Stein, DDS, has been practicing general and family dentistry for over 45 years. He is proud to help residents of Nashville, Tennessee, achieve excellent oral health and stunning smiles at Stein Dental Care. Dr. Stein earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee, Memphis, in 1978. Prior to making Nashville his home, he practiced in Chattanooga—where he was born and raised—for over 35 years.
Dr. Stein is a "bread and butter" oral care provider who uses the simplest methods possible to achieve desired results. His goal as a dentist is to be a stable source of quality education, dental care, and service to each of his patients so they can achieve optimal oral health and an improved quality of life. He loves his field of work and is fully committed to performing at a professional level.
Dr. Stein wants his patients to feel like family, so he honors the golden rules of “Treat others the way you want to be treated” and “Do not do unto another what you wouldn’t want them to do to you.” In addition to being a dedicated dental care provider, Dr. Stein is deeply involved in many humanitarian causes, for which he has made meaningful charitable contributions and received numerous awards.
Dr. Stein is married and has three children and three grandchildren. He and his family enjoy spending time together reading, telling jokes, and watching movies. When not at the office, Dr. Stein can be found gardening or grilling in his backyard, activities he finds extremely enjoyable and relaxing.

I had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Stein and his team. Everyone was very kind, courteous, and professional.
I had a bad experience a few years ago where I saw a dentist that said I had 4 cavities and needed them all filled and required I paid just to “save my appointment”. I was devastated. I ended up flying back to my family’s hometown and saw my local dentist and paid out of pocket to repeat the x-rays. My local dentist said I didn’t have a single cavity. With that in mind, I have always been skeptical when I meet a new provider. But I had nothing to worry about with Dr. Stein. He was professional and very clear. He was not trying to sell services I did not need. I would recommend him to anybody! I’m really glad ZocDoc suggested him. He will be my dentist for as long as I live in TN!!

Great bed side manner that you don’t find in newer dentists. He explained what was going on with my tooth very clearly and I didn’t seemed rushed. Glad to say I found a new dentist I trust.
