About Dr. Alexander Antonakos
Dr. Alexander J. Antonakos graduated from NYU College of Dentistry in 1986. He was granted acceptance to the Dental school from high school in a special program for gifted students and completed his undergraduate degree at NYU in three years rather than the usual four. He was a published researcher at the NIH, (National Institutes of Health) before having graduated high school. Since graduating from New York University Dr. Antonakos has completed several advanced post-graduate courses in different fields of dentistry.
His approach to your treatment starts with patiently listening to you. Then, after a complete and thorough examination, he reviews and discusses the diagnosis and treatment options with you.

Dr Antonakos is a professional. He has done quite a bit of work for me. He makes the visit convenient and enjoyable. Yes, enjoyable. He always provides information as to what is being done and is honest on all interactions. If you need a Dentist in NYC, go to him. Anyone else is a mistake.

I came to Dr. Antonakos for a second opinion. I asked for X-Rays. Dr. Antonakos was very aggressive about why I went to another dentist, rather than seeing him for a cleaning. It was uncomfortable. When checking out, reception first tried to bill me for a full consultation. That's fine, mistakes happen, but they were insistent I had had one, when in fact I had asked for two X-rays. I would not return; I don't need to be chastised for seeing another dentist.

One of my baby teeth was loose and I had difficulty chewing. Did an extraction the next day with Dr. Alexander. Very quick and no pain. It was a great relief for me.

I went to Dr. Antonakos for an Invisalign consultation because it was listed as a service he offers on his website. However, he doesn't offer Invisalign anymore! What a waste of my time. The office needs to be updated- the dental chair had a huge rip in it.

Hygienist and doctor both great, and very happy with the cleaning. My only complaint is that I waited over 45 minutes, so in future I'd recommend they just book appts. an hour apart.

Dr. Antonakos, staff, and Beverly were all WONDERFUL. I was so nervous and left smiling. Going to the dentist every six months will be a snap. Don't forget to floss.
