“Dr. Farmer is amazing! I was really nervous about my appointment because it had been a few years since going to the dentist and I've had some traumatic experiences before. Dr. Farmer was very kind and compassionate and did a great job explaining everything. She also didn't shame me in any way. Kim was my hygienist and she was also very friendly and gentle. I expected the cleaning to be much worse and more painful and it was not bad at all! Austin, the dental assistant, was also friendly and did a great job. I have only great things to say about everyone at Crossroads Dental!”

About Dr. Amy Farmer
Ever since I was a young girl, I knew I wanted to be a doctor. I wanted to help people live healthy lifestyles and feel good about themselves. When I was in high school, I had braces and, when they were removed, my new smile made me feel more confident and sure of myself. At that moment, I had found my life’s calling and future career. I would be able to accomplish both of my desires in the practice of dentistry.
I am the oldest of six children, and was born and raised in a rural community in southeastern Iowa. I then went on to earn my Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry in 1998. I moved to Colorado in 1999 to take advantage of all the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer. I have been practicing in Colorado ever since.
I am and have always been a pursuer of knowledge. I keep current with the most up-to-date dental skill and information by taking more than 100 hours of continuing education a year. Most of my post-graduate education has been completed at the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) for Advanced Dental Studies. LVI offers dentists and their teams from around the world a comprehensive curriculum that inspires life changes in their students’ practices and in their personal lives. It has helped me to keep striving for the best team members, materials, equipment, technologies, and dental labs to give you the most comfortable and exceptional dental experience you have ever received.

Great bedside manner, but long wait times and if you don't have insurance expect the bill to be high. I booked an appointment for my first time with Dr. Farmer and wanted a teeth cleaning. Instead, I was assessed and had some issues. I ended up walking out without a teeth cleaning and a high bill for just x-rays and some 1 on 1 time with the Doctor. I really do like her so I plan on coming back, but I was just a little taken aback that my initial bill was quite high despite not getting my teeth cleaned. I had to book a teeth cleaning and looks like I'll have to wait a month.

I arrived for a cleaning, but never got a cleaning. instead, the hygienist was quite rough getting pictures of my teeth, then proceeded to use broken equipment for x-rays. I had to hold the device while she took her pictures. Dr. Farmer was pretty okay. she was thorough and told me what I needed to repair previous damages caused by old fillings. After the analysis, she said she was fine and everybody left for lunch. Wait... I was here for a cleaning. This office wasted my time. Dr. Farmer wanted to schedule a cleaning, but I'm moving out of state the first week of April. She had nothing available. Waste of time!

Friendly & competent. I was in to have a chipped crown replaced. Amy & staff did a fine job of explaining what they were doing, giving good directions. they didn't use too much anesthetic. The dam style was new to me and worked pretty well. A small cut in my lip was laser cauterized very effectively. I'm waiting 2 weeks for the permanent crown (I was spoiled by my last dentist in Orinda, CA, who was very hi-tech and did his own crowns on site, meaning trivial wait for the permanent one.

Sarah was really friendly and capable. She explained everything she was doing (x-rays & pictures) and why she was doing it. Then reviewed all the pictures with me. Dr. Farmer was professional and competent, but also made me feel very comfortable and at ease. It was hands down the most thorough dentist visit I’ve ever had. I felt very well cared for and informed.

This was my first visit with this dentist. Dental visits make me anxious and it’s been 5 yrs. since I’ve had one! Amy and her staff were kind, attentive and personable. The office was bright and spotless. The process caused me only slight anxiety! It was so much better than I anticipated. I’d highly recommend this practice.
