“I feel like I won the root canal lottery. Dr. Kuo was kind, patient, gentle, respectful, and made a challenging experience as unobjectionable as it could possibly be. I have a low pain tolerance and a relatively small mouth that does not open wide, and at no point during the procedure did I feel pushed beyond what I could handle. My case was not straightforward (a possible tooth fracture, and without decay visible on an x-ray), and Dr. Kuo's initial guidance was extremely conservative, suggesting that maybe I wanted to do a few more days of wait-and-see; it was very reassuring to know that Dr. Kuo would not perform an unnecessary procedure. Immediately after the root canal, I was seen by a dentist at the same practice, Dr. Bochi, so I could go home with a post and a filling. Dr Bochi was great: careful but quick. And I also had great customer service from Lucy at the front the desk. Even more amazingly, all of this happened in a same-day emergency new-patient appointment.”

About Dr. Andrew Kuo
After graduating from New York University College of Dentistry where I received Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and Certificate of Postgraduate Endodontic Training, I taught at NYU as Assistant Professor of the Division of Comprehensive Care, Applied Practice Administration and Behavioral Science and of the Division of Surgical Sciences. I was also the Director of Advanced Standing Endodontics at NYUCD for several years. I discontinued full time teaching in 1994 to devote my full attention to private practice.
For the past 12 years, I was very involved with Shriners Hospitals for Children®. I volunteer in various activities and functions and participate in their efforts in helping children with their orthopedic needs. In addition to serving on the Board of Governors in Philadelphia, I also participate at patient outreach clinics in Puerto Rico. Volunteering makes me feel good.
