About Dr. Behshad Ahkami
Dr. Ahkami attended New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry from 1995 to 1999, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
From 1999 to 2000, Dr. Ahkami completed his residency at Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center (St. Joseph’s Hospital and Trauma Center) in Paterson, NJ. There, he worked alongside top surgeons, prosthodontists, periodontists, and endodontists, treating patients with conditions ranging from trauma to extensive oral rehabilitation and full-mouth reconstruction.
In 2002, Dr. Ahkami opened his first dental office in Clifton, NJ, followed by a second location in 2007 in Edgewater, NJ. After selling his practices in 2012, he opened a new location in Wayne, NJ, closer to home.
Dr. Ahkami is highly regarded by his patients and peers for his dental skills and aesthetic appreciation. His philosophy is based on recognizing that each patient has individual needs and expectations. He ensures that every patient approaches their treatment plan with a full understanding of the procedures, available options, and realistic expectations of their results.
Dr. Ahkami is highly trained in cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, implants, root canals, and all other phases of dentistry. He is also board certified by the State of New Jersey in Botox and all dermal fillers, which serve as an adjunct to his dental practice. This achievement makes Dr. Ahkami a true artist when it comes to the overall appearance of a patient’s face.

I would highly recommend Dr. Behshad Ahkami, I booked a next day appointment as I was experiencing pain, They actually were able to move my appointment to an earlier time, took me in right away and they did the procedure. I am not a fan of the dentist, but here they made me feel comfortable and I have no problems going back!

I just wasn’t happy with the advice he gave me. He didn’t really take the time to understand what my issue was. He suggested a really invasive solution and wasn’t able to suggest any less invasive ones. I got a second opinion the next day and got more helpful advice.

Dr. Ahkami and his assistant, Tomasa, are wonderful! He thoroughly explained my procedure and fully answered all of my questions . Generally, my anxiety runs a bit high when at the dentist but Dr. Ahkami patiently and kindly talked me through my it. Zero wait time and the totally judgment free zone (considering the amount of work I need done) helped as well. I highly recommend Dr. Ahkami and his staff!

Dr. Ahkami was pleasant, explained everything in layman's terms what needed to be done was necessary and what the options were.
The office staff was very accommodating as the injury to the tooth needed to be tended to immediately.
I would absolutely return for regular dental cleanings and exams, as well as nonroutine issues if needed.

Dr. Behshad Ahkami is the best dentist I have ever visited. His office is spotless. His staff is friendly, well- trained and polite. I have never waited past my appointment time. He has dealt with several procedures on me including crowns, dental implants, regular cleanings and more. He is amazing at addressing complicated conditions. He makes sure I understand the procedure and what if any costs are not covered by insurance BEFORE he does the work. I would recommend him to any family member or friend. I really can’t imagine going anywhere else.

Dr. Ahkami is down to earth and straight forward! He doesn't hold anything back! I've yet to have any problems!

Dr. Ahkami once again was on point with my treatment. The dental hygienist is only there are certain days, but those days did not work for me, so Dr. Ahkami did my annual cleaning. Very pleased with his bedside manner and accommodation.

He was great. The numbing medicine didnt quite take after the first shot so he insisted on another dose and wait to continue. I told him it was Ok but he assured me he wasnt in a rush, and it's better we wait so theres minimal to no pain. I really appreciated that. He put my comfort first. Even though I was the last patient on a Friday afternoon running late for my appointment.
He was also teaching an associate while working on me and it didn't feel weird or awkward at all.
The receptionist was kind and thorough.
Doc and I talked about cars while we waited for the numbing medicine to kick in. Overall a good experience and definitely recommend.
