About Dr. Bowman Shin
Dr. Shin has been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry since 2000. He grew up in Lynnwood and Mercer Island and attended Mercer Island High School. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Shin is committed to continuing education to provide the latest innovative materials and dental techniques. He believes in conservative and preventative dentistry. His practice philosophy is to treat his patients like family. Dr. Shin and his staff are dedicated to delivering the highest quality dentistry in a gentle and caring environment.
He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Washington Dental Association, Snohomish County Dental Society, and Alderwood Study Club.
Dr. Shin is married to Dr. Nicole Lee, an orthodontist, and they have two rambunctious West Highland Terriers. He enjoys playing golf, fly fishing, camping, cooking, and hiking with his dogs.

This was my first visit with Dr. Shin. He and his staff were all incredibly kind! He took the time to talk with me directly about my concerns and ease any worries I had. Everything went smoothly, and I was grateful that I chose his office for my appointment. I highly recommend Dr. Shin, especially to anyone who has anxiety about this kind of thing. One thing to mention: his office is in the back of the building *behind* the first building you see. Park in the third parking area, and you'll be right there. ??

Dr. Bowman Shin and his staff are the absolute best in every way. Dr. Shin takes his time to listen to patient concerns, carefully consider treatment options, and clearly communicate expectations and outcomes. My kids actually get excited about their dental visits too. Dr. Shin and his staff always make it a friendly, comfortable, and positive experience for our family. Our treatments have been no-nonsense, honest, and absolutely in the patients' best interest. You can 100% trust in the quality care in Dr. Bowman Shin. We can't sing Dr. Shin's praises loud enough. We have found our forever dental clinic!

Dr Shin and his team were excellent, it can’t get better than this. The space was ambient and staff were soft spoken/ voice and it should be that. I really didn’t want to hear what next person’s problem is or do I want them to hear mine. It didn’t feel rushed. Dr Shin exam my teeth. He took the time to show me how to use a sonicare brush accurately and even have me practice this. I has requested he showed my daughter this at her appt and he remembered to and did the same. The hygienist also did a fabulous job. I really came in hope for a thorough cleaning. I honestly felt like I had a spa- teeth - day. My previous experience from another dental place was terrible and rushed.
One thing was the app -Zocdoc- to schedule an appt was easy at first but was confusing when scheduling for a clean up. After a call from the office I was told first adult cleanup scheduling can’t be done via app. Minor things. Otherwise I highly recommend this dental place to everyone.

I have found my new dentist! Zocdoc truly worked to help me locate an excellent new health professional less than 10 minutes away from my workplace. I booked my appointment on Friday and they saw me on Monday! The receptionist was very welcoming -- great balance of friendliness and professionalism from everyone I met. Dr. Shin himself came out to greet me before my appointment. Jenny was very gentle and efficient with my full-mouth x-rays. I was concerned because I hadn't seen a dentist for 4 years, but she put me right at ease. At 60 years of age, this was the first time I remember the dentist himself participating in that probing/measuring of that space between tooth and gums, which impressed me. This was not a quickie "pop in to look at the mouth for 60 seconds" kind of connection, but a respectful, genuine, helpful initial appointment. I always appreciate learning something new, and I did yesterday! Did you know that a "2" measurement is better than a "1" on that probe?

I have severe dental anxiety, especially when it comes to the shots, and since I have several teeth to be removed I had put off even calling a dentist, but, Dr. Bow assured me that he has techniques that will let me be less anxious. Going back for procedure, will send review afterwards.

I travel often and have been to many dentists. While going to a dentist is never pleasant, I had the greatest experience with this dentist and his staff. He was conscientious, friendly, listened, explained and he and his staff communicated everything that was happening prior to each. His assistant and dental hygienist were super friendly and sweet. Clean, pleasant office with beautiful artwork and conveniently located. They were able to get me an appointment within a few days. Best dentist and staff I’ve ever gone to, out of many. I am and would recommend them to my family and friends without hesitation. I never write reviews unless worth my busy time. Kudos to Dr. Shin and his staff. I left feeling confident that I had the best dental care.
