Dr. Eli is the founder of Facial Pain Specialists. With 30 years of academic and clinical experience, Dr. Eli is recognized as a national leader for his expertise and innovative approaches in understanding and treating orofacial pain. Dr. Eli started his medical career in UCLA’s first class in Orofacial Pain Management. This new specialty in dental medicine provided him with the opportunity to integrate his deep knowledge of dental treatment with his passion for relieving suffering. After graduating from UCLA, he expanded his clinical and academic experience as a practitioner and adjunct professor at Loma Linda University Medical Center, the UCSD Department of Anesthesiology, and Scripps Memorial Hospital Pain Center. Dr. Eli is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. While he leads the entire practice, he works clinically primarily in our San Diego area offices.
