Dr. Mitchell believes being a dentist is "the best job in the world" because of the friendships he has developed and the opportunity he has to improve the health and well-being of others. Through dentistry, he can literally change someone's life and allow people to smile for the first time. He can’t wait to offer you the warm and personalized care you deserve, and below, you can learn a little more about his background.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Mitchell practiced as a physical therapist for ten years. Wanting to stay in healthcare, he decided to switch to dentistry because it would allow him to utilize his artistic talent, passion for medicine, and interest in science for the greater good of his patients.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Mitchell graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in 2014. Since then, he has completed countless hours of continuing education with the world-renowned leaders of dentistry. This includes training with Dr. Frank Spear (Spear Education), Dr. John Kois (Kois Center), and the "Godfather of Dentistry" himself, Dr. Gordon Christensen. He has also focused his advanced training on cosmetic dentistry, general dentistry, and smile design.
A lifelong learner, he is a member of the American Dental Association, Oklahoma Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Away from the dental office, Dr. Mitchell enjoys running, biking, and watching college football and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Together with his wife, they have two teen boys, and you’ll often find them outside on the weekends staying active by hiking and playing pickleball. They also try to travel often and have visited over 20 national parks to date!
