About Dr. Brantley Mccarty
Originally a Virginia Tech Hokie, Dr. McCarty relocated to Florida to obtain her dental degree where she fell in love with the Sunshine State. She moved to Bradenton where she attended LECOM School of Dental Medicine and graduated in the class of 2017. While at LECOM, she served as the president of the entire student body and graduated with the student leadership award. Her family was secretly jealous of her move to Florida and quickly followed her down and settled in Siesta Key. She and her family are extremely close and she loves having them as her neighbors – her mom would not have it any other way. Her sister, Catherine, is a hygienist at Seaside Smiles as well!
One of Dr. McCarty’s proudest achievements is becoming a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). This honor is only achieved by about 6% of general dentists and the majority of these doctors have worked as a dentist for decades. To become an AGD Fellow, she successfully completed over 500 credit hours of continuing education and passed a rigorous examination. As her patient, you are receiving the highest quality dental care from a trusted expert in the field.
Dr. McCarty is extremely passionate about cosmetics and is a huge advocate of clear aligner therapy. I went to Dr. McCarty with full confidence and she completely let me down. I had a very small chip on this inside of my front bottom tooth. She shaved it down to half its normal size and it’s also crooked. She said she had to due to my bite. However, my teeth have always been straight on the bottom and now they aren’t. I’ve ever had any dentist in my 40 years of life tell me I have anything wrong with my bite. She decided to polish several of my teeth without my permission and now my bottom teeth and my front top tooth are all different sizes. This was not a part of my treatment plan. I went to the dentist to feel more confident about my smile and to make my teeth healthy. I left their feeling worse than I ever have about my teeth. I would never recommend anybody to this practice or to Dr. McCarty specifically. I am now having to seek out a cosmetic Dentist to fix everything that she’s done to my teeth. Which I shouldn’t have to do. This has been absolutely devastating for me.

Went in for a broken tooth but I didn’t have insurance so I couldn’t even get x-rays. Still have the broken tooth. Won’t be going back until I get insurance or else it’ll be too much to fix.
