About Dr. Camilo Achury
We are a self-pay practice only and do not accept insurance. The self-pay cost is $473, which includes a complete exam, cleaning, and a full set of X-rays.
Excellence is my passion. When we can bring someone to a state of optimal health, it is a great reward for both patient and doctor. Over the past 25 years, my life has become richer because of the relationships I’ve made with my patients. I feel truly grateful for the opportunity to serve them and am thankful every day for the trust they place in me and my team.
I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Georgetown University. Born in Colombia, I was raised in New York and have now lived in Queens for over 25 years, where I reside with my wife and two children. While my free time is often spent bicycling, jogging, playing racquetball, and traveling, the most important thing in my life is my family.

I've been to about seven dentists in my 30 years of life and they all generally just check for cavities and fill them up if needed and I pay and that's the end of it but my visit at Achury Dental was definitely unlike any other visit to a dentist. Dr, Achury and his staff treat patients like an extended family. Dr. Achury explained things that I specifically asked other dentists but who dismissed it as being something unimportant. Dr. Achury was very thorough in his examination and detailed in explaining my dental concerns. I wholeheartedly appreciate his commitment to quality and affordability! I just cannot emphasize how much I loved my visit.

I had to make an emergency appointment for an infection in my gum. They fit me in right away! The office receptionist was so nice, and did a great job of explaining how my insurance would handle the payment.
Dr. Achury was extremely friendly, and took the time to get to know me, not just my medical history, but also about my interests and job. I'm usually pretty good with the dentist, but his bedside manner was above and beyond. I couldn't have been more comfortable. He fixed up my problem in a good amount of time. Highly recommend!

Do not see Jackie Shayani! She is rude and very rough. I had to get a couple fillings and plaque removed and she NEVER once gave me novocain. I've never felt so much pain ever before! She also puts her assistants to do all the work. I would never go back to her ever! They also seriously overbill your insurance! Stay far away!

Dr and stuff are very friendly and helpful, professional and care about the patients. They take time to listen to my problem and explain to me about my condition. The space is very clean and soothing. It's my first time visit, will come back next week.

A visit to any dentist can be stressful at times. When visiting Dr. Achury it is like seeing family. The time and quality of care devoted to each patient makes you feel special. This relaxed and caring environment alleviates any stress and makes you feel confident that you are in the best hands.

You cannot and will not find a better dentist than Dr. Achury. He is highly skilled and detailed oriented. He will communicate the procedure and ensure you are comfortable. In addition, the office staff is warm and friendly. They make you feel more like family than just a patient.
