About Dr. Chitra Ghafari
Dr. Chitra Ghafari, an accomplished dentist with over 25 years of experience in private practice, has provided restorative and cosmetic dental services to her patients in the greater Washington, DC area from her offices in the Kentlands since 2005. She is a Fellow of the International Congress of Implantology and has received extensive training to treat complex restorative and cosmetic cases at some of the most prestigious institutes in the country.
Prior to moving to Maryland, Dr. Ghafari practiced dentistry for seven years in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
Dr. Ghafari earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1997, where she was on the College Honor Roll throughout dental school. She completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Minnesota in 1998.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Tehran, where she graduated at the top of her class. After moving to the United States in 1990, she earned a Master of Science degree in Physiology from the University of Minnesota in 1993. During her graduate studies, she served as a research and teaching assistant. Her master's thesis led to the publication of four papers-two as first author and two as co-author-and two presentations at national meetings.
Dr. Ghafari is fluent in Farsi, French, and English. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Currently, she serves as the President of the Washington Iranian Dental Society. Dr. Ghafari greatly enjoys general dentistry for the diversity and comprehensive care she can provide to her patients.

Dr. Ghafari and her staff were very kind and attentive. I have a hard time being at the dentist's office and having someone mess around inside my head- but there were courteous, patient, and empathetic to what I was experiencing. Also, Dr. Chafari seemed interested in me establishing my goals and desires, rather than simply telling me what to do. I recommend.

Front desk lady was terrible. She hardly speaks English and does not explain fees and other important info well enough. Bad attitude.
There was a young lady I had worked with befirevthat was great, friendly and knowledgeable. But today she wasn't there. The new girl caused me to get a new dentist.

I really enjoyed my first visit with this dentist. I hadn't been to a dentist in years and I was a little nervous but she and her staff were fabulous! I will definitely be coming back in 6 months and plan on being better about routinely going.

Dr. Chitra Ghafari and assistants were extremely friendly, professional and helpful. The office was clean, well organized. Also, the location of the office is in a beautiful area and is easy to locate.
It was my first visit to this office and the entire staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. I highly recommend this dentist to anyone.

I'm not crazy about going to the dentist, but on the whole this was fine--and for me, that's high praise. Office is very efficient, and there was no wait. Everything was explained to me and the doctor took the time to ask if I was okay during the procedure since the instruments make me very nervous.
