Dr. Colin McCartney is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over 20 years of experience practicing in Texas. Dr. McCartney is trained in both dentistry and medicine, giving him comprehensive expertise in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. His practice interests include dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant surgery, and maxillofacial trauma. Dr. McCartney earned his Bachelor degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, where he was recognized with the Outstanding Student in Physiology Award and an ADA Endowed Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Dr. McCartney was also inducted into the Baylor Odontological Honor Society. Following dental school, Dr. McCartney completed his internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, and completed his six-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at UMKC/Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. During his residency, he served as Chief Resident and received the Excellence in Maxillofacial Trauma Fracture Plating Award in 2003.
