About Dr. David Cannon

Dr. David S. Cannon lived in California, Alabama, and Scotland during his early childhood. His parents moved the family to Salt Lake City when he was 8 years old. Dr. Cannon served a mission for his church in the Dominican Republic and is fluent in Spanish. He attended West Virginia University, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, graduating in 2000.
Following dental school, Dr. Cannon completed a one-year postgraduate program in General Dentistry at the Martinsburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia. There he learned more advanced techniques in general dentistry. After working for a year in a practice in Holladay, Dr. Cannon started Pinnacle Dental in October 2002.
Dr. Cannon is married to his wonderful and supportive wife, Sylvia. They have three children, ranging in age from 17 to 10 years old. In his spare time, Dr. Cannon enjoys hanging out with his family and snow skiing.

Dr. Cannon was recommended to me by my SIL -- he was friendly, compassionate, and great at both listening to my concerns and communicating what steps he was taking in real time.

I hadn't been to the dentist in almost a decade after a really traumatic experience involving a botched root canal, so I was nervous for my first appointment. However, Dr. Cannon and his staff were friendly and compassionate -- I didn't feel judged for the state of my teeth, and he clearly explained everything that was going on as it happened, which helped me feel more comfortable. I have already recommended this office to other people where I work.

I’ve been seeing Dr.cannon since I was a kid. Last year when my insurance didn’t cover him I was pretty upset, and had to temporarily find a new dentist. Our insurance now covers his office again and he did a double extraction. He did a great job. He checks in on me to make sure everything is feeling good and if it’s not, he sets me up with an appointment to figure out what’s going on. I will always recommend Dr. cannon to friends.

I will definitely be going back! Kind, understanding, sociable, respectful staff all around. I hadn't gone to the dentist in a few years due to my anxiety in medical and social contexts, but I was never made to feel anxious or ashamed at any point in my visit. The office is of very high quality, and seems designed to be efficient in getting the staff from one client to another. There's a gorgeous view for clients to enjoy while they wait to be seen in the dentist's chair.

Absolutely Top notch dentist. Office has a welcoming feel to a first time patient however it seemed every one else in there was a repeat patient which is always a good sign. Wonderful and friendly staff who did great work and really seem to make an effort to get to know all their patients personally. Dr Cannon is awesome. Safe to say my wife and I have found our new dentist.

Very fast process, but not rushed. I heard Dr Cannon talking with several of his patients and it was clear that he cared about them and they cared about him. I was also happy that he was able to fill my cavity without forcing me to get a cleaning and x-rays etc. I would if I could, but I can't afford it right now, so I'm grateful that he was able to just do the essentials for me. Would definitely recommend to others.

Dr. Cannon was very friendly and got to know me as a person, which I really appreciated. Mandy and Daisy were great too. I was a little self-conscious about the fact that I hadn't been to the dentist in a few years, but they put my concerns at ease and made me feel comfortable.
What I enjoyed the most about Dr. Cannon was that he didn't push any expensive procedures on me - he explained everything he saw and his reasoning behind specific treatments.
