Technology today allows us to do amazing transformations with people?s smiles. It?s exciting and gratifying to see the difference smile enhancement can have on someone?s self-confidence.
There are many misconceptions about dental care, and patients often have outdated ideas about what is available. With my patients, I take the role of teacher, consultant, and confidante. I want people to know there are many ways to quickly and painlessly improve the health and appearance of their smiles. Missing teeth can be replaced by implants, discolored teeth whitened, teeth that have drifted out of alignment repositioned, and metal fillings and crowns replaced with tooth-colored restorations.
There has never been so much technology and so many techniques to help preserve the health, beauty, and function of teeth. Many suffer with unattractive teeth for years, thinking they have no options. I tell everyone it?s never too late to have a beautiful smile.
Doris Giraldo, DDS, is a compassionate cosmetic, family, and general dentist at New Dimension Dentistry in Midtown East, Manhattan. Dr. Giraldo has practiced dentistry in New York City for nearly three decades and is deeply passionate about her profession and patients.
Dr. Giraldo earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1989. She also completed advanced training in Implant Dentistry at NYU. From 1989 to 1991, she served as a clinical instructor in NYU?s Operative Department. At the same time, she opened her private practice in 1989 and has been practicing at New Dimension Dentistry?s current location since 1995.
Dr. Giraldo loves going to work each day and interacting with her patients. She also volunteers her services in her free time both in the United States and abroad.

I HATE going to the dentist, and often would put off appointments for years at a time, but Dr. Giraldo and her staff are amazing and understand the fear and anxiety many patients feel, and they go out of their way to alleviate that anxiety. AND they use state of the art equipment and techniques. I can't recommend Dr. Giraldo and her staff enough.

Dr. Giraldo and her staff were very kind, and I felt I was in extremely capable hands. They took me immediately and both visits (cleaning and cavity) went by very quickly. Very cozy office with a great team. Highly recommend.

Dr. Giraldo always provides exceptional experiences during every visit!! She is so warm and welcoming with the wonderful smile she has. Her entire team at the office is so professional and provides superb service. I don't think I could ask for a better dentist!! If you need a crown, Dr. Giraldo can do what not many dentists are able to accomplish technically right now, in 2015. She can make a crown for you in one appointment--in about two hours, a lot of which time you will spend resting with a pillow behind your head, listening to music, an eyeshade over your eyes or gazing out at the Chrysler building in the distance from her office window. She can do this because she is using a lot of very up-to-the-minute computer-based technology. It takes her only about fifteen minutes to "drill" painlessly with a computer-assisted, water-accompanied process, to remove your cavity; then the computer takes a picture of your tooth's dimensions; and finally she makes your crown from a block of ceramic (no metal) by herself in her laboratory, from the computer scan. She then places the crown on your tooth--and you are done. A staffer told me that some of the office employees from across the street come in at lunchtime, have the crown started, go back to the office, and then come back to her office for a few minutes to have the crown put on, after she has finished making it. Doris Giraldo is already in the 22nd century of dentistry. I went home, after my crown had been made, with a lot of anesthetic in my face, but by the end of the day it had worn off, and now, this morning, I don't feel a thing. And I have a beautiful white ceramic crown.
