Dr. Duy Nguyen’s path to dentistry is unique, beginning as a computer engineer before embarking on a career change to dentistry to pursue a more service-based profession and followed the call to service by enrolling in the US Navy as a general dentist. Dr. Duy Nguyen has strong roots to northern Virginia. He graduated from Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, VA. After deciding to pursue dentistry, he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from one of the top dental programs in the US, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received numerous accolades including the “Best of the Best” Prosthodontic Award. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Navy and achieved additional post-graduate training through the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. He then served as a General Dentist at the Marine Corps Base at Camp Pendleton for several years before relocating back to northern Virginia to be closer to family. Dr. Duy Nguyen’s diverse background and experience have been invaluable in honing his meticulous and superior technical acumen with his passion for helping patients maintain their oral health and to care for and protect their natural teeth. His journey from a computer engineer to serving in the US Navy and becoming a highly sought after and trusted dentist underscores his versatility and dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of those he serves. Dr. Nguyen is committed to providing outstanding, gentle, and caring dental services to the Fort Belvoir community, especially to his fellow service members and their families. Dr. Nguyen is married and has two young daughters, Lily (2 and a half years old), and Violet (3 months old). In his spare time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys staying active with playing tennis, golfing, and table tennis (ping pong). He also enjoys playing bass guitar, exploring photography, and singing.
