Elizabeth Caughey, D.D.S. Dr. Elizabeth Caughey, aka “Dr. C,” is a dentist practicing TMD treatment, airway-focused orthodontics and complex restorative dentistry in Atlanta. After a traumatic skiing accident in 1999, she has been personally familiar with a cycle of pain, diagnosis, treatment and disappointment that many patients with TMJ-related problems endure, due to the compensation patterns they adopt to manage the pain.Her desire to combine big picture thinking with attention to detail has driven her study outside of the scope of dentistry, and into healing arts for insight into this most complex and beautiful puzzle called the stomatognathic system. Her current passions include studying growth and development, how nature's plan can get off course, and what dentistry can offer in the way of redirection toward health.Among her professional accomplishments, she has taught occlusion and bite splint therapy at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Studies from 2004-2014, and is currently on the teaching faculty of the Applied Integration Academy. In 2014 Dr. C founded the Atlanta Center for Integrative Postural Therapy, and as such hosts physical therapists and Myofunctional therapists in office to further the neurological relationship between occlusion, the TMJ, the neck and the rest of the body. Dr. Caughey received her 200 hour YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) certificate from the Peachtree Yoga Center. She trained for 4 years in CT and MRI diagnosis from the Piper Institute and has taken over 30 PRI courses in human asymmetry. She has been an active member of the ALF InterFACE Academy since 2018, has trained directly with Darick Nordstrom, the inventor of ALF. Beginning in 2021, she studied Homeoblock therapy under its inventor, the late Ted Belfor.
