About Dr. Erik Ligans
Erik Ligans, DDS, is a skilled cosmetic and general dentist practicing at Playa District Dental, located in the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. He considers it a distinct honor to help improve the smiles and oral health of individuals living in and around Culver City, Fox Hills, Playa Vista, Ladera Heights, and Inglewood.
Dr. Ligans (Dr. E) earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California's Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. For his undergraduate studies, he attended the University of California Riverside, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2014. While at USC, Dr. E volunteered with many nonprofit organizations focused on alleviating health disparities by providing care to underserved communities-a passion he continues to pursue today.
At Playa District Dental, Dr. E and his team offer an array of cosmetic services such as veneers, Invisalign, and cosmetic smile makeovers that can transform your smile. He also provides a full range of routine dental services, including tooth extractions, dental implants, emergency dental care like root canals, and same-day crown services.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. E enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with friends and family. He is also an avid sports fan, cheering on the Los Angeles Lakers, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and USC football.

Awesome dentist visit. After having a not so great experience I was hesitant to go back in for a cleaning but it was time. Dr Erik was super friendly and the entire staff was so attentive and made it a relaxing experience. You can watch Netflix while you’re in the chair too if you’d like. They were straight up about what possible extra work I might should have done but did not pressure me into signing up for anything that came with big out of pocket costs. Highly recommend Dr Erik and the office!

Amazing and relaxing atmosphere! I really enjoyed my time at this dentist office. Everything is catered to you! Even TVs while they are working on your teeth. I felt like royalty. Very hip and fun atmosphere, yet extremely professional and knowledgeable. The BEST mix! I loved this dentist office and can not wait to be back.

This place was great! They found a lot of things I suspected were an issue and I am booked to return very soon to take care of it. Pandemic days made me delay seeing the dentist longer than I would have preferred, but they were very upbeat about what they found. I'll be using them again in the future!

Dr. Ligans and his staff are great! They fit me in at the last minute to fix a chipped front tooth, and he did it perfectly. The office staff was warm and welcoming, and I loved that they are paperless. Dr. Ligans listened to my concerns and dentist history before making any recommendations and did not push anything on me. He did an excellent job getting me fixed up, and I would absolutely use him again.

Most enjoyable dental visit I have ever experienced! Dr. E and his staff are so friendly and welcoming that it’s easy to forget that you are at the dentist. The entire facility is extremely clean and there is such a luxurious feel as soon as you walk in. Dr.E is extremely knowledgeable, very professional and has changed the game in dental visits.

I’ve had many visits at this dental office.
My first impression was— WOW! This is the nicest dentist I’ve ever been to. Very modern & always clean. & a great view in every room, as well as a tv.
Next, I was very impressed with how personable and hospitable the staff was. Very nice and genuine people, it helped immensely to calm my nerves about my check-up and subsequent procedures.
Dr. E himself is an all around great guy. Very charismatic and down to earth, while still being very professional.
Now let’s talk about my experience with my procedures—
Cleaning: fast & thorough
Fills: fast and very little to no discomfort
Root canal: fast, painless and very fast recovery & a realistic porcelain crown that was made same day in office
Wisdom teeth extraction: fast, painless and very fast recovery
Teeth whitening: fast, minor sensitivity, and my teeth look great
Retainer: fast molding & it feels great
The thing I love most about this dentist, besides the amazing staff, is the flexible and quick scheduling. I was able to squeeze in all these procedures within a small time frame, and I never had to wait.
10/10 recommend.

Visiting Dr. E is literally the least stressful dentist office I have visited since I can remember. The professional atmosphere is perfectly balanced with a laid back comfort as so as you walk in. When business is done you catch yourself hanging around marveling at the appearance and warmth of the office. State of the art equipment juxtaposed with a lounge feeling will have anyone's apprehensiveness to teeth cleaning immediately relieved. Do yourself a favor and stop in and meet the team and the man who can keep your smile looking perfect.
