He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at UMDNJ and University Hospital in Newark, NJ where he served as Chief Resident during his last year. Dr. Vitale has served the West Essex community for 37 years primarily in the West Caldwell office. He was Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Mountainside Hospital and St. Barnabas Medical Centers as well as a faculty member of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Jersey City Medical Center and President of the West Essex Dental Association. During his career, Dr. Vitale has been known for his compassion and dedication to his patients and loyalty to the dental community. His recognition by his peers has resulted in his selection as a New Jersey Monthly Top Dentist every year since its inception in 2002. A published author in the Journal of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the New Jersey Dental Association, Dr. Vitale has remained an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, The Academy of Osseointegration, The International Team for Implantology, The American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, The New Jersey Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, The Essex County Dental Association and The West Essex Dental Association. Dr. Vitale’s character and experience make him a valued member of the Riverside Oral Surgery team.
