Patient reviews for Dr. Genevieve Fernandes
Very professional & efficient!
I went for a clean up but felt like they’re trying to sell me other services/products like for example veneers. Very insisting on other services. The experience was overwhelming, I just wanted a clean up. Sat down quickly but the actual clean up was 2-3 hours after.
i was in there for almost 2 hours for a simple exam and cleaning the girl took xrays and told me they were for invisalign and when i said i wasnt there for invisalign she realized she had the wrong patient opened on the computer The doctor then decided to go with it and kept insisting that i needed invisalign for my slightly crowded teeth ( 35 years and no dentist has suggested i needed braces) The doctor seemed disappointed that i didnt have any cavities and kept insisting that i can still have bad teeth without cavities and i need to come in often i needed a deeper cleaning which i agreed to bc i havent been to the dentist in quite sometime. this meant i needed to come back for the cleaning When i came back in 3 weeks for the cleaning i waited 35 minutes meanwhile the cleaning was 15 minutes done by the dentist. Then the hygenist came in to manually floss my teeth ...so what exactly was done in my cleaning????? The dentist then told me i had severe build up within the 3 weeks and i need to come back every 3 months for a cleaning ..........again in 35 years ive never been told i needed to come back in 3 months ...in fact all other dentists told me i could wait a year although they recommend 6 months ..... this place is a money pusher im afraid to know what they wouldve wanted to do if i actually had a cavity
Good dentist office, BUT beware of booking on Zocdoc. They use Zocdoc and 1-800-Dentist to book weekend appointments OVER and ADDITIONAL to their already full and regular schedule. That means you do not really have an actual appointment. You only have a "ticket" to wait inline for when the dentist can see you between their actual appointments. I waited one hour and fifty minutes to be seen.
Waited 20 minutes to go back into the exam room, X-ray technician was incompetent and would not ask for help when I suggested she ask someone else to come into the room who was proficient, took 1 hour to take X-rays and pictures. On a positive note, the dentist I saw (not dr Fernandez by the way) was very sweet, took her time and pleasant. They always make you come back for your cleaning and won’t fit you in the same day. The office manager seems obsessed with making money and not making it about the patients.
Although the wait time was very long, the overall office and visit went great. The x-ray tech was kind and helpful. The doctor herself was very kind and thorough. The receptionist was helpful and understanding.
Office staff and doctors are pleasant and polite. They do a great job. The waiting room is comfortable, but I waited 50 minutes after my scheduled appointment before I was seen. I wish I didn't have to wait so long.
Great staff! Very friendly and professional. Dr. Fernandes was thorough and very pleasant.
The office accepted and confirmed my appointment, then everyone forgot to go to work that day and never followed up. I had a couple good experiences with the practice but those will not cover this massive annoyance.
Deceptive billing. Overcharged me for services that they never did. They acknowleged this and had to fight them for months to get the money back. Would never ever go back there
I am searching for a dentist that is attentive and recommends what I need. Dental visits can be intimidating, the experience was comforting and informative. I would definitely return.
The dentist was fine. No complaints. Didn't have any real work done so that's the only reason I can't know if I would 100% recommend. However, I would definitely recommend the practice over all. The desk staff is very helpful and the hygienist was *amazing. * I think having my teeth cleaned may be the highlight of my day. Genuinely enjoyable. <3
Terrible experience. My baby (the patient) is not even 2 years old, the dentist saw 3 patients before us without explanation, even though we arrived before 2 of them. Our appt was at 11, the dr saw my son close to 1 pm. And they charged as a emergency appt. I don't plan to go back
I felt like I was being handled by salespeople and the feeling continued for a year following my appointment with emails, postcards, and phonecalls badgering me to come back in. NOT going back.
seemed dismissive and i had to go back 3 times to get my tooth fixed. Ultimately I went to another dentist.
They charged so much for x-rays!! I went for regular cleaning and check-up and my bill was more than a K. Never going back!
Very pushy..wanting me to do many different treatment and surgery. The staff was very upset when I told her that I'm busy and can't schedule an appointment soon....felt she hung up on me, that was quite unprofessional.
This was my first time visiting the dentist in years and I loved Dr. Fernandes' friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and colleagues.
Office is truly accommodating and helpful. Great reminders. Truly a pleasure to get my care with Dr. Fernandes and her staff
Very friendly! The admin worked with me to make my visits as affordable as possible. The hygienist was lovely too!
I saw another dentist, not Genevieve Fernandes. Not complaining though, the other dentist and the dental hygienist were amazing. Liylia, the hygienist, really took her time and used dental models to demonstrate various techniques. Of all the dental practices I have visited, this was the first time I ever encountered a professional who truly cares for the patient. This practice is extremely lucky to have Liylia.
Very unprofessional, I was left alone for over an hour, and I decided to leave.
best dentist that i have ever had
I fractured a tooth and was seen on a Sunday which was great. The entire office staff was friendly and welcoming. They were upfront with the fees and have good payment options. Dr. Fernandez is down to earth and extremely warm. I will be bringing the rest of my family here.
She was so professional and thorough yet easy going and friendly, i felt that I was gettting the best possible care for my teeth.
Great service, caring staff, went for a consultation, but stayed to get a filling fixed because they made time for me.
I felt appreciated and they treated me awesome!
Great experience. Would highly recommend to others.
Dr. Fernandes was brisk, but the technicians who actually deal with the patients were caring and personable. Lack of coordination between the admin and the rest of staff means longer wait times, rushed consultations. Communication within team could be improved - was clear that there is tension there (which can happen at any office) but personally thought it was aired too publicly and had an overall negative effect on the patient experience.
Waited for over an hour, but then after I shared my frustration with them, a nice person tried to help me but there was really no excuse for that long wait. They then took 4 x rays before looking at my teeth and insisted I had nothing until the doctor looked in my mouth and saw that I do indeed have a cavity. They charged the insurance for 4 x rays (high amount) for no good reason, but at least I don't have to pay that... Doctor was nice but experience was very lacking as a whole. I will go again and give them another chance in case this was a one time thing as the nice person claimed and then change my review if it improves.
My visit this time was very short and simple just due to the nature of my issue so I cannot speak for how she does with more complex/longer procedures but for a first time visit it was fantastic and I will definitely be returning. I have a lot of dental problems and she was very understanding (rather than critical or condescending as some dentists I have been to previously have been) and able to help with the immediate issue I came in for. The rest of the staff was also very friendly and helpful even though my insurance situation was a little bit complicated.
Deceptive billing practices: I would not ever go to them again. No way.
Amazing experience! Daniel, the gentleman at check in made me feel so welcome as a new patient
Nice and professional staff. Cleaning was done well and efficiently.
It was very pleasant. They made me feel at home. I will be back there soon
Friendly staff and dentist.
She tries to up sell you to teeth whitening and Invisalign. She is super nice professional and has good manual dexterity though...
The entire office was extremely nice, she also tries to work with you on what needs to be fixed with your teeth. Everyone remembers your name and area all extremely helpful.
Deliberately misleading about pricing. Just awful.
I will be back and I will be recommending them to friends and family.
Nice offices on Central Park West, modern equipment and a very competent and communicative staff, highly recommended!
DDS Fernandes is a kind, compassionate and professional dentist. I will be reccommending her and her cohorts to anyone who asks for a dentist. Thanks for helping me regain my smile and self-confidence.
She was great
Love that they are open on Sundays!!!
Being that I am an elderly patient she is so patient, courteous and kind.
The people were fine, very nice and competent...but this place was so unorganized; 1st, I got a call a few days before my appointment confirming my appointment, but they had the wrong time; I had the email they sent confirming my time, but they denied that this was ever the time. Originally I had scheduled for 2 pm, they moved it to 1:30, no biggie. The day of, I called up to see if we could move the appointment earlier in the day, they told me it would not be a problem, and that I could come at 1 pm, so I did. At about 2 pm, I got seen by the doctor. The staff seemed to think I was in a rush...I was not, but I had been sitting around for an hour.
Dr. Fernandes was very friendly and seemed helpful. The only minor problem I noticed was the fact that they charge you $125 even though you have insurance that they accept. Today I went in for my root canal and also noticed something which I did not like, the doctor who took care of me was great and did an excellent job with my root canal. When she was almost done she asked for the other doctor that was going to complete my crown to come in and do the second part today instead of having me go back. The staff said she had stepped out when the doctor asked for her to be called the assistant came back and said that I needed to come back. When I questioned the assistant she said that because I had "symptomatic sensitivity during the procedure which the doctor never said they were going to continue next week. I am not stupid or ignorant I knew exactly what happened and do not appreciate to be taken for being stupid. I will speaking to the office about this when I return next week.
OMG,she was a delight ,lovely and beautiful i would be going back again ,soon.
