Dr. George Manthas was born and raised in New York City. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1991, along with the Distinguished Service to New York University Dental School Award. Dr. Manthas has been licensed to practice general and cosmetic dentistry in the state of New York since 1991. He worked at Lutheran Medical Center from 1991 to 1992 and Merrisinia Hospital from 1992 to 1993. After two years working in dentistry, he began his own private practice in two locations: 250 E. 58th St., New York City, and 32-11 Broadway, Astoria, NY. He is a member in good standing with the American Dental Association, the American Prosthodontic Society, and the National Society of Dental Practitioners.
Dr. Manthas has been caring for dental patients since the start of his career. He is devoted to providing excellent care for each individual to achieve the best possible healthy smile in a friendly, state-of-the-art atmosphere.

The dentist was great & the cleaning felt thorough. My one complaint was the receptionist. She was very short and almost rude.

Dr. Manthas is a nice man with a kind heart. However, he never actually looked at my teeth. His assistant took care of the cleaning, which was complete in 20 minutes. She flossed one quadrant of my mouth and then said I was done. Admittedly, I'm on an HMO insurance plan, and perhaps this was part of the reason for the rushed service, but this certainly was a different experience than I have received from other dentists.

Every dentist I have been to after Dentist Manthas has told me my filings were not done properly. The infection continued to spread and I now have to get surgery. Other than that he is really friendly and great guy.

Had a great experience with Dr. Manthas as usual. Zocdoc listed him as accepting my new insurance when I scheduled the appointment but he was unable to accept it when I arrived. Thankfully it was only a cleaning, but I had to cover the cleaning on my own since he wouldn't accept my insurance.
Always a great experience, but call to verify if your insurance is covered because Zocdoc listing may not be accurate.

Although Dr. Manthas was very polite, he spent a total of about 5-6 minutes cleaning my teeth - there was NO hygienist who cleaned my teeth. Upon asking why my visit so quick, and if everything was okay, I was told that the equipment being used made the cleaning procedure more efficient, and that my teeth were great. I would prefer a deeper clean since I usually go to the dentist about once a year.

George was awesome. Told me the dentist that insisted I get my teeth filled was being dramatic and probably trying to get more business from me. He fixed up one issue and gave me a full cleaning and gave me advice for how to manage the tiny chip in my tooth. Checked with my insurance and he only billed me for what he did.
Felt like he truly had my best interest at heart. Would definitely recommend.

Got my extras done and cleaning done all within 45 min. This dentist is not looking to over charge he just wants you to have good teeth. He is our new dentist for sure.

He's a really friendly dentist and very quick. I've had two dental cleanings with him, but I'm not sure if it's because he focuses on the gums, but it's kind of painful and I always end up with a very very bloody mouth. I've never had such a harsh dental cleaning. While he cleaned out my plaque and made my mouth feel very clean, I'm a little worried he's also scraping down my tooth enamel to make my teeth appear whiter. Overall great dentist, but be ready for a very clean, but bloody mouth afterwards.
