About Dr. Gerard Scannell
Dr. Scannell was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2021 from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans, Louisiana. He keeps current on the latest dental techniques and technology through continuing education and his memberships in the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry. He is periodically a writer of the AGD’s magazine, Impact. In his spare time, Dr. Scannell enjoys spending time with his wife, who is also a dentist, and their dog Macks. His interests include fishing, golf, and hiking.

I spent just under two hours for a full set of X-rays that took 5 minutes to complete and then a brief consultation with the doctor as I was a new patient. After the X-rays were done I spent over an our sitting in the chair after being told twice the doctor will be with you shortly. He quickly looked at my teeth and reviewed my X-rays and that was all. Maybe 15 minutes total I was seen for a two hour wait. Ridiculous. I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the office. Some staff were great, others were unfriendly. I had booked a cleaning and was told I would have to book an additional appointment because my teeth needed to be looked at first.. wish I would have been told that. I would have found an office that could have accommodated both in one visit. Waste of my time.

He asked what my service dog was for (you aren't supposed to do this). that was really awkward, but otherwise, he seemed like a very knowledgeable and respectful dentist.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Scannell. He was friendly and professional. He even shook my hand after he introduced himself to me. I felt like a person, instead of just a mouth with teeth.
