About Dr. Harold Perlaza
Dr Harold Perlaza, DDS, has been educating his patients about good oral health and periodontal care for over 20 years. Dr Perlaza specializes in advanced cosmetic dentistry and customized treatment plans and options. He attended a special dental program at the University of California Los Angeles in 1989.
Dr Perlaza has completed numerous post graduate programs in cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation, dental implants and laser periodontal therapy. Dr Perlaza teaches at UCLA, school of dentistry, advanced education on general dentistry. Dr Perlaza is an avid scuba diver, underwater photographer and videographer.
On his time off from Sherman Oaks Dentistry, he enjoys trekking and diving adventures all over the world.

I came in requesting a filling, and had 2-week old x-rays to show what I needed. I was charged for additional x-rays and a consultation so the doctor could tell me he would not do a filling (which he had already decided on after seeing my x-rays, because as I entered, the hygienist said, "oh, you're the one who needs crowns").
He referred me to someone else to do a root canal, saying he would send these x-rays to that doctor, so that they would not need to do any more. I then said to him, "I appreciate that you are sending me to someone else, because it means you're not just upselling me." However, as I was leaving he mentioned that after the root canal, I would have to come back to him for a crown. That removed the appreciation.
When I called the doctor he referred me to, the office told me they would again have to do more x-rays (so the first doctor was either confused or dishonest about that).
I am not going to the referral or returning to this doctor again.

Dr. Perlaza was very understanding and kind with me. I have really bad dental anxiety and he was able to walk me through my appointments with a breeze.

Excellent technology, kind staff, knowledgeable doctor. I was shown and explained every tooth and how it is doing. I've never had a dentist this detailed.

This is a very well new office that is very responsive and accommodating. The atmosphere is very calm and I feel well taken care of.

The staff was very friendly and punctual. Everybody asked if I had any questions throughout the entire visit. Everything was explained clearly and I never felt pressured into anything.

Visit was very thorough and gentle. I have history of had / traumatic experience with dentist, and Dr. Perlaza office has greatly changed that new with their patience & care. Would recommend to anyone needing dental care. PS. They took me in on emergency basis and all was well :)

I thought it was amazing. I'm usually uncomfortable going to dentists but they made the experience super easy. They checked on me throughout the time they spent on my teeth to make sure I was ok. I will always comeback!
